On Thursday June 22 Alex Jochamowitz, who is my stepdad and the husband to my mom Ana Rosa Chipoco-Jochamowitz, suffered a severe stroke with carotid blockage or "Acute ischemic stroke/AIS carotid stroke". The stroke was so severe that it left him completely paralyzed on the right side of his body and will likely become permanently disabled for the rest of his life. He spent 6 days in the ICU, stayed another 10 more days at Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital East in Boynton Beach, Florida and is now in a rehabilitation center for an unspecified amount of time. Unfortunately, we are unsure of what the future lays ahead as far my dad’s care but continue with a hopeful heart he will come back home. I, and many others, know my mom has always been (and still is to this day despite what’s happening right now) the type of person ready and willing to support others and lend a caring, helping hand. As her daughter, I also know she is not the type of person to ask for help. So that’s why I created this LFEBridge. My dad’s medical insurance, hospital stay, rehabilitative care, and future care (hopefully at home) is currently my mom’s financial responsibility. Right now during this uncertain and life-altering time, knowing these medical bills are on its way to their home, she needs the same support she’s countlessly offered others. For those who have helped my parents thus far and prayed for my dad’s recovery, my mom and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. She sees your texts and listens to your voicemails, and will respond to them in due time. El día Jueves 22 de Junio mi padrastro Alex Jochamowitz, esposo de mi mamá Ana Rosa Chipoco-Jochamowitz, sufrió un derrame cerebral severo con bloqueo en la carótida o “Acute ischemic stroke/AIS carotid stroke“. El derrame fue tan severo que el lado derecho de su cuerpo se quedo completamente paralizado y probablemente quedará permanentemente discapacitado por el resto de su vida. Pasó 6 días en el UCI, y otros 10 días más en Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital East en Boynton Beach, Florida y ahora está en un centro de rehabilitación por un tiempo no especificado. Desafortunadamente, no estamos seguros como será el futuro de mi papá, pero continuamos con la esperanza de que volverá a casa. Yo, y muchos otros, sabemos que mi mamá siempre ha sido (y aún lo es, a pesar de lo que está sucediendo ahora) una persona lista y dispuesta a apoyar a los demás y echar una mano cariñosa. Como su hija, también sé que ella no es una persona que pide ayuda. Por eso creé este LFEBridge. El seguro médico de mi papá, la estadía en el hospital, la atención de rehabilitación y la atención futura de mi papá (con suerte en casa) es ahora la responsabilidad financiera de mi mamá. En este momento tan incierto, sabiendo que tambien las facturas medicos de mi papá llegaran a la casa de mi mamá y papá en cualquier momento, ella necesita el mismo apoyo que ha ofrecido a otros innumerables veces. Para los que han apoyado a mis padres y oraron por la pronta recuperación de mi papá, les agradecemos mucho desde el fondo de nuestros corazones.
