Aleah was a 40 year old mother of 7 year old Ayden and 5 year old Abby and wife to Chad. She fought like hell against stage 4 rectal cancer that eventually spread to many other organs. She was diganosed on September 11th, 2015 and passed away on Wednesday July 5th, 2017.Her tenacity was astonishing. She tried everything in her power to try to ensure her children had their mommy for as long as they could. The little ones know their mom isn't with them anymore but they still don't comprehend that she is gone forever. So heartbreaking.Her friends and family are sad beyond belief that she is gone, but at peace knowing that her pain is no more. The world has lost an incredible, funny, warm, kind, selfless individual who was graceful to the end.A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2:00pm Calgary at the Foster's Garden Chapel. 3220-4th St NW. What the campaign was for:Aleah needed to get to multiple medical appointments every week, usually between 9am and 3pm (sometimes 2 or more in one day). She couldn't drive. Her husband needed to look after the kids and works full time (Aleah is no longer able to work). She had no immediate family in the Calgary area that can assist. We raised money to pay for reliable, assisted medical transportation for her. This was all scary enough without her worrying about how to get to her appointments (none of which are a picnic as you can probably imagine). Yes - there are organizations that provide volunteer drivers, but it is never guaranteed to be available, and those volunteer services cannot be booked at the frequency that she requires (or at the last minute if she needs immediate transport). The funds may also be directed to other things Aleah needs to support her on this long road.
