To all our kind friends, family, fellow dog lovers, colleagues & anyone else - Admiral, our 22 month year old dog/son needs YOUR help. Venmo is another method to donate! https://venmo.com/u/Michael-King-5 Full Story Following a routine neutering surgery ~ 10 days ago, Admiral developed a life-threatening infection causing severe inflammation & cellulitis resulting with tissue necrosis (dead tissue) due to temporary loss of blood circulation. The veterinarians said this was a highly unusual and shocking event and the root causes were not entirely pinpointed. After *day 5* with aggressive antibiotics and plasma treatments in the hospital, his inflammation/infection finally improved by 50%(!!!). His surgery team is optimistic that he’s going to live a normal life and recover, but will need extensive wound and surgical care *(3x/week for the next ~3 months)* to treat his necrotic areas & heal. This is literally the BEST HOPEFUL news we can expect. He will stay home with us during this time and we will diligently take care of him as directed by the surgeon. As you can imagine, his specialized ER care in San Francisco is extremely expensive, BUT we are determined to provide him with what he needs to recover and live a LONG healthy life and continue to be a part of our family. So far we have spent $30,000 out of our own money, and pet insurance will only cover a max of $7,500. His upcoming *life-saving* treatment is estimated to be another $30,000 pending no further complications. This has strained us financially and we are heartbroken. We need YOUR help to continue his care. Admiral is our son, our boy, and not being able to have children of our own, he has given us the beautiful gift of parenthood. We appreciate ANYTHING you can give during this critical time in his care. We can’t go further with his care without your kindness and generosity. We will provide Admiral’s updates on his IG page @admiralthelab. Please follow his recovery to good health with us! Love Michael and Ewa
