Hello all!My name is Abby Olsen and I was selected to be a Youth Exchange Student with Juneau Rotary to study abroad for a year. I am extremely excited and grateful to have this opportunity. A flat fee of about $7,400 will be due before I leave, which will cover the costs for traveling to/from my host country, and to 3 orientations in Anchorage, insurance, visas, a blazer, language camp, pins and a name badge. This fee does not cover external costs such as travelling around my host country, emergency funds, and living expenses. I hope to gain a wider perspective of the world I live in, learn more independence, and experience life in a whole new way while studying abroad. In January I will be travelling to Anchorage along with all the Rotary Exchange Students in my district to find out where I will be spending my year abroad! (I'll make sure to share it with you all as soon as I find out!) I plan on keeping a blog while in my host country, and I'll provide the link to it as soon as it is started! I created this LFEBridge so that family and friends of mine can help make this year abroad possible.
