Hello everyone. We just received the news that my beautiful 23 year old daughter has Stage 3 Alveolar sarcoma, one of the rarest forms of sarcoma with only 80 people being diagnosed per year and usually affecting children and young adults like Abby. The 6cm tumor in her leg has been removed and it has possibly spread to her lungs, we are praying for a miracle and hope the lung nodules that are too small to tell are benign, this form of cancer is very common to spread to the lungs. The 3 nodules are being monitored at this time. The tumor in her leg still shows marginalized cancer cells and she has to go through 15 rounds of radiation and another surgery to remove the cancer cells, we hope it didn't spread to other areas in her leg, a femur scan is Monday. We are lucky to be close to the Mayo Clinic for treatments. Abby is in college, living on her own and working as much as possible. She is going to need as much help and support to get through this as possible and will possibly not be able to work and be as independent as she always is. I would like to take the financial burden off of her shoulders for a few months while she is going through treatments and surgery so she can focus on her health. She only wants to continue to go to school and work just like she always has.
