Everyone who knows Abbie knows she's a strong, happy, funny and goofy little girl! On Abbie’s 7th birthday, she was diagnosed with Oral Melanoma Cancer affecting the right side of her jaw and teeth. On June 25th we recognized a small bump under Abbie's jaw along with her right side lower K-9 tooth becoming discoloured. After a check-in at the vet, further testing was needed to identify what this mass is. Abbie had her first surgery on June 28th, this was mostly for radiographs, x-rays, and additional testing. The results came back and were not what we wanted to hear. Abbies right side jaw bone has been disintegrating and is no longer connecting any of her teeth on that side. The next suggested step was to remove the mass and send it off for further testing to confirm what it was. After a few days of keeping the lump clean of drool, and blood, and hand-feeding her just to get something on her stomach, Abbie had her next surgery. The next week Abbie underwent a debulking surgery to remove what they could of the mass, they also removed her right side k-9 tooth and a couple of others at this time. After this surgery, Abbie was back to her happy self, until it started to grow back less than 5 days later. They sent off the debulked mass and on July 12th we received the news that it is cancer and she will be going through a multi-step treatment plan beginning on Thursday, July 20th at the Mississauga, Oakville Emergency Hospital. On July 20th Abbie will be examined by an oncologist, further testing will be done on the mass and we will know more as to what type of surgery Abbie will be needing to fully remove the tumour and beat this cancer! We will keep our page updated with any news we receive on Abbie’s journey. Why go fund me? We are fully committed to getting Abbie the help she needs and deserves and will jump over any obstacles in our way. We are prepared to spend whatever we need to, to get our baby girl better. The funds raised here are to help us out as a safety net in case our expectations are exceeded. All donations will go directly towards paying off Abbie's surgeries and her road to recovery. As we know more about what her road to recovery will look like we will update it on here! Whether you can donate or share this post we are extremely thankful for everyone who can keep Abbie in your thoughts during this shitty, painful time. We appreciate any support, we care about her so much and she's so young to be going through this. Life's not fair and all we want is for our baby to get better!
