Hi, I’m Rachel and I’m fundraising for Aaron! Aaron recently had an emergency appendectomy that resulted in a 42 day stay at a hospital in AZ. His appendix burst while he was traveling for work. He made an emergency trip to AZ where he knew some friends, for help. The hospital did a laparoscopic appendectomy. About a week after the surgery he developed bad complications that were a result of an ileus/blocked small bowel. They had to do an open stomach surgery to remove a section of the small bowel and then repair it. Things only slightly improved after this surgery and didn’t not get any better. Lots of severe pain, nausea and throwing up that continued. After many scans, the doctors decided that a other surgery was needed. Another open abdominal operation revealed that his body was making scar tissue too fast and the bowels had attached themselves to the area where the appendix used to be. The doctors had to release that area and clear out the bowels. Thankfully after this surgery, things began to improve. It was a very long hard road for Aaron. Many occasions of depression and anxiety with the whole situation. I stayed with him for a little over a month at the hospital and helping him to get through this difficult situation. To the praise of God, his boss has allowed him to keep his job and some of his salary during these 42 days in the hospital. His insurance situation is not the best and this hospital was out of network. So many people have prayed for him to get better and God had answered those prayers. I know God can provide to help with the expenses now as well. If you’d like to help him out, this is a way that would be very helpful and so greatly appreciated! Any amount you can give will be a blessing. From some initial research, I found that a appendectomy with complications averages around $60,000. This was an estimated of course as his stay was extensive and complicated. The hospital he stayed at was a non profit, so that is helpful as they focus more on patient care rather than medical costs. All the funds will go to cover out of pocket medical costs that he will have, as well as helping with financial needs due to not working. We can’t thank you enough! Recovery will take some time, but each day is better than the last! “Bear ye one another's burdens…” Gal. 6:2
