Hi everyone! To know Doug is to love Doug. He is selfless, caring, giving, energetic, and the list goes on. Recently he took on a new property with the long term goal of sharing the space as a community driven maker space. He plans to install a fully operational campground for year round guests, a workshop, ponds and dirt bike trails, and the list goes on. Sure, he does it partially to enjoy himself, but his real motivation is seeing the happiness this place brings to the people he loves and cares about. The property takes A LOT of work, money, and time. I am creating this fundraiser in hopes that we can surprise Doug and get him a sauna for his birthday, December 13 ( perhaps with a lovely lil surprise party ). I'd love for him to have this to ensure he gets plenty of ways to relax after his long days laboring for others. I've done some preliminary investigative work on saunas and so far believe that a ~3ish person indoor sauna to be placed in the garage or barn would be ideal. Most seem to range near the $3,000 mark. So with fees and taxes, I'm aiming to raise around $4,000. Happy to take suggestions should you have any! If we raise more, we can get something even nicer / bigger. I'll make sure to post cost totals once a purchase is made, and any leftover money not spent will go directly to Doug to use as he sees fit.
