Hello! We are Tim and Heidi. We have been married for 27 years and have 5 kids (4 girls and 1 boy) and 3 grandkids (2 girls and 1 boy). We both work full-time jobs. We have rarely had money problems or difficulty paying our bills. But last year we were hit with a series of unfortunate events that bogged us down into an unrecoverable situation. When we discovered a leak in our bathroom wall, we had to stay in a hotel while it was fixed since we only have one bathroom in our house. Unfortunately, the insurance company (who shall remain unnamed) took complete advantage of us and we ended up living in the hotel for 5 months (September '22 through January '23). The money we were supposed to receive was "excused away" as fees and deductibles, and we didn't get near enough to cover the repairs or our living expenses. Then, when the first of the year came, I learned that my work had not taken any money out for taxes throughout 2024. Normally, all of our taxes are paid and we get a decent refund to cover other expenses that come up like car insurance, tags, etc. So when we filed our taxes, we ended up having to pay several thousand dollars. Since we didn't have that money, we had to max out our one credit card and our line of credit at the bank. The following month, our son got a new job and had to relocate. He asked us to help him move with my truck. On the way to his new town, a deer jumped up out of the ditch and we hit it, totaling my truck. Not only do we now have a car payment we didn't have before, but the car insurance also spiked our premiums because of the wreck (my first and only in 40 years of driving). Our youngest daughter graduated high school this year and is preparing to go to college. She has received many scholarships, but we are now faced with the dilemma of finding funding for the things scholarships don't cover. We would have been able to pay with our reserves, but those have all been used up by these unfortunate events. We are asking for generous funding to help us take care of these unexpected expenses and get us back on our feet so we can once again sustain ourselves. If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
