Foremost thank you for stopping and contemplating on helping our family. This weekend my family went through a really shocking ordeal. My family including my parents and two sisters including my middle sisters partner & 2 children under the age of 3 years and of course their family dog Nala, experienced a house fire that could have been prevented but unforeseen by them, as they are renters. We know now by the fire department that it was an electrical fire. And my family would not have seen it coming as it was inside the walls. My family is thankful the fire happened in the afternoon and not at midnight as they sleep. I am so thankful for as the timing as well because so of my family members are diabetic with continuous dialysis treatment 4 days a week and an after the fact heart surgery that requires a lot of stability and comfort others in our family live with mild asthma to severe asthma , that ps have not allowed them go search for their most dear belongings. Needless to say they are counting their blessings, that everyone is safe in health. Aside from possession that are memorable to them and valuable to them, the most significant loss is this home they lost. As renters they have fix and updated so many things that the landlord denied to fix. They have made it their own and tended to many repairs the home visibly needed. Since the fire that happened on Saturday July 22, 2024. My family has been going from hotel to hotel. As the rates are really high here in San Jose, CA (Bay Area). My family's landlord denied any allocation or help and is requesting that they move immediately and removed all belongings. This landlord is dismissive and holds NO responsibility. We thank the red cross for the help they have given the first 2 nights but although they are compelled by my family ordeal ,they have done their duty. The funds we ask for are to aid for rent deposits. In San Jose ( bay area) in CA, deposits are absurd. We are aware my family wont be able to live all together as housing for this size of family is impossible to attain, so this will help them greatly so to start over and give rent deposits.
