Our beloved mother and grandmother Rita Harrity, age 92, passed away on June 10, 2024, leaving behind wonderful family memories, sorrow, grief and need. Without Rita’s support, her youngest son, Pat, and great-grandchild, Robby, are without a home. We have started this LFEBridge to help them cover moving costs, deposits, rents and other fees to help them find and settle into a new home. Rita was a loving, kind, hardworking woman who was widowed at age 35 and left to raise two boys on her own. A compassionate mom and grandma, Rita didn't hesitate to welcome her son Patrick and his young daughter Jenna into her home, when the need was most. 12 years ago, Rita happily welcomed an addition to the full, active, multigenerational household, when Jenna's baby boy, Robby, was born. That joy was soon shattered when 3 months later, Jenna tragically died, leaving Robby in the care of his Grandpa Pat and Great Grandma "Gram Gram" Rita. Loving grandparents have seen Robby through the death of both of his parents, and in 2024, the death of his beloved Grandma Janet. For the past five years, Pat has provided full time home healthcare for Rita in addition to raising Robby. Rita worked full time well into her 80's, and with the loss of her income, social security and pensions, the monthly payments can no longer be met. So now, it is time to move from the only home Robby has ever known, to a one story apartment, that will be close to Robby's school and to better able his Grandpa Pat to care for them both, in the face of his own, serious, senior health issues.
