In May 2024, Margaret and her family received the devastating diagnosis of colon cancer. It was a blow that no one expected, but she faced it head-on with unwavering strength and determination. After fighting through countless chemo and radiation treatments, Margaret got to celebrate as she achieved remission. It was a triumphant moment for her and everyone who knows her. Life seemed to be returning to normal and Margaret got to go back to doing what she loves, Teaching. For twenty-plus years Margaret has been an exceptional teacher within our region, and I know has touched the lives of so many families in our community. Her infectious enthusiasm and genuine care have made her a fabulous role model, particularly during the last few years with the kindergarten students. In a heartbreaking turn, her cancer has returned and is more aggressive and determined. It has now spread to other parts of her body and she is losing her fight against this horrible disease. To support Margaret and Dan during this difficult time, I have created this go fund me to alleviate some of the financial burden their young family is about to face. Ava, Mia and Abby are about to experience something no child should ever have to bare. Our goal is to ensure that she can focus her remaining energy on her loving family without the added strain of financial worries.
