Hi, my name is Adrian and I am creating this fundraiser for my 22yr old son, Joey. I wholeheartedly appreciate you taking a moment to read his story.  On Thursday July 13th, 2024 my 22 year old son Joey, went into cardiac arrest. This was not a drug related incident. He was at work helping a customer when it happened. Although his co-worker did immediately begin CPR, he was not resuscitated until after paramedics arrived which meant he was without oxygen for quite some time. Although they were able to resuscitate him he was unresponsive and has been in a coma since. His CT Scan shows global swelling in his brain which is now resulting in his brain being pushed down on the brain stem. Dr’s say he isn’t brain dead but do not know if he will wake up and if he does they expect substantial cognitive impairment which will require long term therapy and care. If there was one thing I would want you to know about my son it’s that his personality is larger than life. He is known for his diverse taste in music, his deep, deep love of the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and Formula 1 racing. His friends would tell you that he is always the funniest and funnest guy in the room. He is currently enrolled at Pinellas Technical College in their cybersecurity program and God willing, is due to graduate in November. Any monies donated will be used to pay Joey’s bills (car payment, tuition etc) and any medical bills that may not be covered under insurance as he will require extensive care, some of which may be high risk and expensive. I have never done anything like this and never, ever wanted to be in a position to do so, but mom’s do what they have to do for their babies so thank you to anyone who took the time to read our story. I don’t have much of a social media presence to speak of and barely know how to use Facebook so if I could ask anyone reading this that does have a social media presence or at least knows how to use it, to please share this on my behalf. That alone would be so appreciated. And, I know this may go without saying but prayers and positive thoughts are also needed. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
