Hello! My name is Lynne and I am fundraising for my current medical and financial emergency. As many people know, I have several chronic medical conditions that I am trying to manage while working full time. In early June, I began having severe vision issues so I immediately made an appointment with my neuro opthamologist. Over the past 4 weeks, I have missed 3 weeks of work, had one trip to the emergency room, 3 days of IV steroids, a biopsy of my right eye, 2 brain and orbit MRIs with and without contrast, an allergy to MRI contrast, an infusion of ocrevus for Multiple Sclerosis, appointments with a neurologist, and almost daily appointments at the neuro opthamologist and I lost count of how many tests I have done at the neuro opthamologist weeks ago! At $50 a pop just to see my dr, the copays have become too much for me since I can’t go to work or bring in any income anymore. I attempted to file for SSDI years ago and the SSA owes me almost $20k, however, I haven’t heard anything from them in 7 months. The good news is that my neuro opthamologist is still holding onto the hope that my vision could still come back. But in the meantime, I am unable to work, unable to make a living, and I have a ridiculous amount of growing medical bills. During this time, I am having to reinvent the way I do every little thing in life because on the morning of July 7th, I woke up and I could not see anything. My vision was completely gone for most of the day and I currently have very little vision. Although my vision did come back slightly, I don’t know that I can return to work anytime soon and I am likely planning an extended leave of absence and another application for SSDI/SSI. I don’t know what my future holds and this is a scary place for anyone to be. If you can spare an extra $5 it can mean the difference between me seeing my dr or not. It can be the last $5 towards something that will help restore my vision.
