Our awesome, generous friend, Holly Ashfield, is braving the fight of her life...for her life.So we're asking friends, family, and other kindhearted individuals to contribute towards alleviating some of her financial stresses while she undergoes very arduous treatment for her cancer...at least until some essential safety nets can be put in place. The necessary government and community agencies have been contacted for assistance, but there won't be any relief for several weeks to months. And as you can appreciate, it's a pittance.She recently had a mass removed from the temporal lobe in her brain...a biopsy confirmed malignancy, so further surgery is required. As well, she has stage 4 lung cancer and lesions/nodes on her spine, adrenal glands, and abdomen.While she attempts to be her normal upbeat, quirky self, she has been through the wringer. And her prognosis is grim.As all of us know, it's difficult enough keeping the lights on, looking after our loved ones (both human and animal), and ensuring a roof over our heads when we're working and able-bodied, let alone facing an aggressive cancer, a mountain of hospital bills, and requiring expensive and extensive treatment. Holly has responsibility for herself and four kitties, and substantially helps out her immediate family.This dear lady will feel a lot better and have a fighting chance if we can lighten some of her tremendous burden related to everyday expenses. We would love to see her able to put her full focus on her treatment and recovery, thus allowing for some quality of life free from guilt and worry.She is an ethical, generous, hardworking, compassionate person who has been dealt some very rough cards.The amount of the goal has been set a bit higher to absorb some of the fees collected by LFEBridge and WePay for doing the donation processing and to account for the difference between Canadian and US dollars (LFEBridge doesn't allow a campaign set up in Canada to collect US currency).
