In 2015 Focus On Africa (A Tribute to Peter Plumb) completed the first phase of a medical clinic in Gita, a rural area near Kisumu in Western Kenya. The Clinic is run by local medical practitioners, Jackson and Juliana Magra and has established itself as a respected medical facility offering treatment to anyone regardless of their financial status. The next phase is to build a laboratory. This will then mean that the clinic can join the Government backed National Health Insurance Scheme. This will help the clinic to be more financially independent and be able to treat more people. On the 9th and 10th of September 2024, I will be walking The 100km Thames Path Challenge (https://www.ultrachallenge.com/thames-path-challenge) to raise money towards the £7000 that we estimate the laboratory will cost to build. Any support you are able to offer would be greatly appreciated and really help some of the world's poorest get good quality medical care. Thank you!
