Hello, we’re a team of friends and family fundraising for Becky (Randles) Schmidt. On June 29, 2024 Becky was diagnosed with triple-negative ductal carcinoma, stage 2 aggressive breast cancer. Doctors moved quickly and within days she and her husband James “Jim” Schmidt, a cancer survivor himself, were traveling from Pierre SD to Sioux Falls for 2 days of testing and appointments. Followed by two more trips which included: port placement, a second site biopsy, the first couple rounds of chemotherapy, and an MRI. Thankfully her next treatments will be done in Pierre until the halfway mark in October. Her battle is just beginning. Sadly Jim fell ill again and was hospitalized for 5 days with long-term issues stemming from his cancer treatments.We realize times are tough for everyone but this family has seen more than their fair share. Already pushed to the limits they desperately need our help with medical bills, medical travel/lodging, and out-of-pocket expenses.
