Hello, kind souls! My name is Nancy Debra, and I am reaching out to you with a heart full of hope and determination. For the past 30 years, I have called California my home, establishing a thriving business and becoming a part of a wonderful community. However, life has taken an unexpected turn, and now I find myself making a difficult decision that tugs at my heartstrings: leaving everything behind and moving to be closer to my aging parents, in Florida. To some, it may seem extreme, but my parents dropped everything for me and my well-being when I disclosed to them at age 16 that my grandfather had been sexually abusing me since I was 5 years old. They moved heaven and earth, made repeated sacrifices and loved me unconditionally through every step of an uncharted journey. Making them a priority is an easy decision for me, but one that has proven hard to make happen. Their strength and determination is what I am channeling now. A Mother's Love: They say that a mother's love knows no bounds, and this couldn't be truer for my dear mom. When I was younger we fought like cats and dogs, but as I got older, we became best friends. On Saturday’s when friends my age were hanging out at the mall I would be hanging out with my mom. With her has always been one of my favorite places to be. A Father's Support: My dad has been my rock for as long as I can remember, always there at every turn, daring to be brutally honest with me, even when I was not ready to hear it. I have always been Daddy’s little girl and I cherish the role and relationship we have. With this move, I will have the opportunity to be by their side, as they have always been for me. A Leap of Faith: Leaving behind my well-established life in California is a leap of faith—one that fills me with both trepidation and excitement. By moving to Florida, I will be able to provide them with the love, care, and support they so selflessly gave me throughout my life, as they enter their later years. Uncharted Waters: As I embark on this emotional journey, I must confess that moving cross country and obtaining housing requires a significant financial commitment. In addition, securing employment has proven to be a daunting challenge, despite my sincere efforts. This brings me to a place of vulnerability and uncertainty, but I will not let it diminish my determination to make this work. A Call for Support: With a heavy heart, I reach out to you, the compassionate souls who understand the importance of family and the significance of unconditional love. I am humbly seeking your support to make this transition as smooth as possible. I cherish the time we have together and your generous contributions will enable me to make the move cross-country where I can be more involved in their day-to-day lives. Every dollar raised will go toward essential living expenses, the physical move and to help support me in the gap between finding employment in Florida and leaving my job in California.
