At the tender age of eight, an unfortunate fall from a hammock altered the course of his life, leaving him with broken teeth that have become a constant reminder of his struggle. Despite his circumstances, Kechnaide, a beacon of resilience, has endured years of hardship with an unwavering spirit. He refuses to let his current conditions define him. With an infectious smile that dances in his eyes, he brightens the lives of those around him, transcending the limitations that poverty has imposed upon him. He is now 14 years old, in the 8th grade, and living with his mother Enita and stepfather Mario; Kechnaide is the second oldest of 6 siblings living in a small rundown house. Every morning at 4 am, Mario makes the trek to work milking cows. And when Kechnaide isn't busy with school, he is accompanying his stepfather, tirelessly working alongside Mario. Barely making enough to put food on the table, this family doesn't have the finances to fund the treatment necessary for their young boy to right his smile.
