Hi We're 5 Friends ( Anne Mullins, Debra Grace, Gillian Rutherford, Helen Thompson & Linda Bannatyne) walking the West Highland Way for 3 charities close to our hearts. What started as "Covid Coffee & Chat Walks" back in 2024, has progressed to a 96-mile Challenge over 7 days in September 2024. With a daily average of 15 miles, this will test our fitness and stamina levels but we're hoping our target of £1,000 to be split evenly across the following three charities will help focus our minds and keep our legs going in the right direction. Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, known as CHAS (Scottish Charity, SC019724) Offers full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite and support – through hospices, homecare services and hospital presence. CHAS It's Good 2 Give ( Charity SC041416.) Committed to supporting the physical and mental well-being of young cancer patients and their families in Scotland. Offering a wide range of support to both patients and hospitals. This includes practical support such as parent packs, hospital ad hoc support, mental health support for patients, and the beautiful Ripple Retreat, a restful purpose-built facility for patients and their families during difficult times. It's Good 2 Give Wakefield Hospice (Registered Charity No.518392) Provides end-of-life care with compassion and professionalism. In memory of a very special Yorkshire Lady, Sylvia Hewson. Wakefield Hospice Each of these Charities does amazing work and relies on small fundraising activities such as our WHW Challenge. We would greatly appreciate any donations you can afford to make. We're hoping, our Husbands alone will gladly donate to get a full week of peace & quiet! We commence our Long Walk on Tuesday 19 September 2024 and hope to have enough energy at the end of each day to provide an update on how we're getting on via our Facebook Pages.
