It’s that Time Again for Reese to go back to Boston Children’s Hospital for his surgery! It’s definitely been a journey for us with Reese. He was born with a congenital heart defect called- hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Hypoplastic left heart syndrome is a rare heart defect present at birth. In this condition, the left side of the heart is extremely underdeveloped. The left side of the heart can't pump oxygenated blood to the body. So Reese has already had 3 open heart surgeries at birth, 6 months and 2 years old at Children’s Hospital in Boston. Boston Children’s hospital are setting him back up for another surgery that includes a shunt in the heart, coiling off AMVs and creating him a portal vein. They are optimistic but if this doesn’t work then we will have to go ahead and start the process of a combined heart/liver transplant because he is already in heart failure. Time is of ESSENCE. We are asking for prayers and donations to help us with the out of pocket expenses for flights, hotels and medical expenses. We have been so BLESSED!
