Recently on May 31st my Granddaughter Calista was diagnosed with uterine didelphys, multiple butterfly and hemi-vertebrae’s. She also has a tethered spinal cord stretched to her L-4 along with a build up of spinal fluid and scoliosis in the cervical spine. They(her parents) also were informed on July 13 that 6 of her ribs are fused together. Calista will be having pre-op appointments, surgery and post op appointments all in which are in long island. I am asking for any type of donation towards travel expenses and medical bills as this will not be an easy time and my grand daughters mother and father will both be pulled away from work. Tolls, food, housing are not cheap in Long Island. As of now, they will be going back down the last week of July for pre-op appointment, August 8th she will be having her tethered spinal cord released. The neurosurgeon is hopeful that the fluid should clear up on its own. If it does not, they will remove it. Calista will also need to follow up with the urologist to make sure that she will no longer have leaking issues once the spinal cord is released. Once she heals from this they will all be on their way to Boston to deal with the uterine didelphys. Please help my granddaughter and her parents get through this difficult time with as minimal stress as possible.
