Overview: Mission Start: September 2nd, 2024 Duration: 11 Months Countries: Guatemala, Romania, Albania, Turkey, Jordan and South East Asia near and in India. Reason: To spread the good news of Jesus and help the physical needs of those less fortunate through prayer, teaching, working/building and more. Link to the Website: World Race Website Story: I can say with excitement and grace that very recently I have completely dedicated my life to Christ. Although I have been a part of the church for as long as I can remember, this commitment has sprouted a relationship with Jesus that I have never experienced before and has changed my life in ways I could never imagine. With this commitment came a calling from God to put my faith to work. That was emphasized during a bible study where we dove into James 2, which outlines faith and deeds. “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” James 2:26. As I prayed on this during mass the next day, I acknowledged that I may never understand the plan God has for me, but instead, I asked God to provide me the first step to His grace. This prayer led me to mission work. The next day I scheduled a call with a mission group called World Race. Originally, I was interested in a four-month mission in January, but as I spoke with the representative from the organization he presented a much harder and more committed option. He told me that although signups and registration have already ended, there is an 11-month mission trip that begins on September 2nd. He also said that they needed another male to go or else the one going already, would not be able to. I thought to myself, this has to be God working in my life because I as a human with a finite brain thought there was no shot I would be able to make this work. I would only have a month of preparation and fundraising and I would be gone for close to a year in places I would never think to go. But, as I prayed on this, God made it clear that if it were up to me, this would never happen. However, with God, anything is possible. So, after much prayer and discussion, I recently committed to this trip and now I am fundraising in an attempt to make this work. This mission would be in six different countries throughout the 11 months. Those countries include Guatemala, Romania, Albania, Turkey, Jordan and South East Asia near and in India. I would first do a two-week training centered around evangelizing and spreading the word of God through everyday activities. The reason for this is that, in some of the areas we are traveling, it is illegal to spread the word openly. So, we would emphasize work through teaching English or building houses and inviting people to Christ through that work. I personally am funding half of this trip, and if it were possible, I would fund all of it, however, I must rely on God first and the community to help me with this endeavor. The Lord has called me to move in His name and regardless of if you can donate, I want you all to ask God how you can put Christ first in your life. The point of this trip is to bring the word of God through Christ in the gospel, to people around the world and that starts here.
