Hello friends, family, community, and fellow animal lovers of all kinds! As some of you know or are discovering the news about Yassi's accident of being ran over, injuring his hip. He is experiencing Coxofemoral (Hip) Luxation, the femur dislocated from the socket of the hip. The doctor attempted multiple times to get it back into place, but it won't stay on its own. This kind of injury if goes untreated would lead to more problems for Yassi causing much more pain. The next best thing is the procedure called Toggle-Rod Fixation. We are hopeful this surgery will be his only to get on the road to recovery and be able to get back on the trails. The accident has been very heavy on our hearts to see Yassi in this state and he is very depressed to not having the motion of his legs to run or be with us out on the trails. He's had his initial visit after the injury with the attempts to manipulate his hip into place at $1,122.68 and then 2 follow-up visits to schedule surgery + Pain medication to hold over $820. This surgery he has coming up this Thursday, August 3rd is $3,630 and then the 6 visits post operation for Rehab in Flagstaff, which we are located on the reservation, so some travel expenses are included. Currently my mommabear is helping us out by letting us use her credit care that is fronting the cost. We are so appreciative of her that it’s giving us some time to get funds together to cover the total cost of Yassi’s treatment. The Canyon Pet Hospital has been so caring and giving the best treatment to Yassi and we are grateful for them! After his procedure, we will be making weekly updates on here of how Yassi is doing. We know the amount is a lot to ask for, so we're just hoping that with friends, family and the online community, we can make a dent in the bill. A little about Yassi for those who don't know him very well, He is a very loving kind Husky Wolf who loves adventuring with us, especially on the trails. He loves to go up to folks and give them his cute wolf eyes asking for a snack. He also is a talker and will jump in on a group howl. Yassi also recently gained a little human brother who he very much loves and has not left his side since we brought him home. Yassi is a very gentle soul and has so much spirit to keep on trekking on the trails with us. He's been very dear to my heart since he was 3 months old. If you met him you know he is a special soul indeed. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for wanting to help. We appreciate anything you feel you can donate. Every little bit goes a long way. If you can't give, please feel free to share the link. Lots and lots of love, MT, Terence & baby brother Tséɬchee
