Wolverine was saved from euthanasia at the shelter (Pima Animal Care Center - PACC in Tucson) with minutes to spare. His adopter who drove from Phoenix to Tucson to save his life is relocating to California at the end of this month. We were hoping that another interested prospective foster in Phoenix would be able to take him in, but the two attempted intros with her dogs over this past week did not go as well as we had hoped, and of course we didn’t want to push the envelope and set Wolverine up to fail. Wolverine is a quite large, three-year old “puppy” who definitely needs to learn some manners to help him find the perfect home and stop the cycle of coming back into the shelter system. We reached out to Rachel at Sol Dog, and she referred us to Raechel Clevenger with Desert Winds Dog Training in Phoenix. Raechel is able to enroll Wolverine in her in-home board & train program at a rescue rate of $2200. After Wolverine completes this program, Raechel will help us network him to find his forever home (and she’ll be very picky!). She works with a lot of rescue groups in Phoenix! While we’re looking, sweet Wolverine will be able to stay with Raechel at her in-home boarding for $800 a month. We previously raised $1600 for Wolverine. Since that was a Facebook fundraiser, we won’t receive that money for at least 45-75 days. We don’t have time to wait, so we’re launching this fundraiser now to focus on the board & train program. If we can raise these funds by August 15th, we’ll get the money via Paypal on August 25th, just in time for Wolverine to start school before his adopter leaves the state. We’ll then use the other funds from Facebook for the in-home ongoing housing with Raechel while we search for his forever home. We’re also enrolling Wolverine in Pets Best health insurance, and HOMS will continue to cover his medical needs until he finds his forever home. Can you please help us in making a difference in Wolverine’s life? He is so loving and deserving of a good home. He just needs some help so he can be the best dog he can be. Any donation no matter the size will make positive impact in Wolverine’s life. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
