We found Winnie on the streets of Los Angeles sitting in the middle of the road in between 8 lanes of traffic. She was in rough condition with no fur, malnourished, and sick. The shelter wanted to put her down, instead, we took her to a vet and after 3 months of medical care and treatment we fell in love with her and gave her a name. Winifred (Winnie). Named after Bette Midler's role as Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus. Instead of finding her a new home, we made her part of our family. She's been by our side since memorial day 2012, the day we found her. Winnie had her spleen removed, and the biopsy came back as lymphoma. We're running more tests to see if it's something we can treat with chemotherapy or radiation. Because of you, we were able to put down half the cost of the surgery and get her spleen removed. That relieved so much of her pain and she's happy and content at the moment. Now we start our journey to finish paying for the surgery and any treatment she needs for her cancer. Your support and generosity has made it possible to get Winnie the medical care she needs. You have no idea how much this means to us. Thank you all so much. We almost didn't start a Go Fund Me because we weren't sure it was appropriate, but it's not about us. It's about doing everything we can for our Winnie so we decided to do it. Thank you so much.
