When I started this fund, I initially thought it made sense to tell the story of what my life was like during an encounter with a street artist named Boyè on Venice Beach in California. So much has transpired since then that I think it makes more sense now to refine that story and let you know what the mission has become. So many artists and musicians are conditioned to believe that their path to success is based on luck. In 2019, I started a blog with the goal of putting this conditioning to the test and changing the toxic paradigm that tells artists they can't. With the buzz of social media as a platform for new artists, getting our work out there is easier than ever. However, the competition is high and many people do not have the business skills required to sustain their creative enterprises. That is why I've set out to learn and teach project management skills to creative entrepreneurs and artists of all types. It's time to give artists real skills for success rather than encouragement that often falls into the realm of the "woo-woo." It's time to stop telling our children they can become anything they dream of while falling short of teaching them real life skills that hold weight in front of investors and other business professionals. It's time to take charge of our own learning and apply it in ways that grow and support our communities. That is why I have developed a programto help creative minds organize their ideas, learn how to utilize real business practices and technologies, and take action to apply those skills to the real world so that they can help others grow as well. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, "employment of project management specialists is projected to grow 6 percent from 2024 to 2032 -- that's faster than the average for all occupations." What's more is that the skills project managers attain range from software development, web development, finance, sales, and the emotional intelligence required to lead teams. Even having just one of those skills is enough to be an integral component in any company and is absolutely essential for those on the self-employment path. Furthermore, the growth conditioning and agile mindset adopted by project management professionals place them in high demand in ANY industry while giving them the skills to bring their own entrepreneurial dreams into fruition. After receiving a golden ticket to learn on ServiceNow (a global tech company), I learned that project management is the path that makes the most sense for a artists of any kind to embark on. But I wouldn't be living out my soul's purpose if I didn't help others along the way. By giving to the "Where is Boyè Fund for Music & Technology" you are helping me pay for the cost of completing my project management professional education through the globally recognized Project Management Institute, obtain my certification, and share this knowledge with other creatives through my arts-integrated program that prepares them for certification. Help me change my life and the lives of so many creative minds today.
