I am Nicole, a student at Newcastle University, studying Civil and Structural Engineering. I have been given the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills that I have learned in my last 3 years into practice as part of my Global Engineering module, volunteering with EcoSwell in Lobitos, Peru. EcoSwell aims to drive and implement sustainable projects in vulnerable communities, improving lives, whilst restoring natural ecosystems. The projects include; reforestation and conservation, water and sanitation, research and monitoring, public health, and renewable energy.
