"One day, we will remember how lucky we were to have known their love, with wonder, not grief." - Elizabeth Postle. (Left: Shane Catford, Right: Craig Scrase) My name is Kiana Scrase. In October 2024, my dad's best friend committed suicide. His name was Shane, and he was like an uncle to me. The most shocking part is that he was so 'happy'... never stopped making everyone laugh. The morning after he did it, I wrote the first draft of this film's script. His friendship with my dad, Craig, was beautiful; so beautiful, it deserves to be seen. And so does the underrepresentation of men's Mental Health. In my Film & Television course at Bond University, I was given the opportunity to tell this heartbreaking true story, and we are now in pre-production! Synopsis: Following the sudden and inexplicable suicide of his best friend Shane, Craig reminisces on their cherished memories, spiraling down a heartbreaking quest for answers that may forever remain elusive. Meet our family... Unfortunately, suicide has touched the lives of many. Whether you've lost a loved one or felt suicidal yourself, we want people to know, that in grieving or healing...they are not alone. Your donations will help raise this well-needed awareness and also be the reason my dad and his best friends' story is told...and loved. Donations: Above $500 will be listed as an Executive Producer in the film's credits. Above $150 will be featured in the film's credits under "Special Thanks." Every cent means the world to me, so thank you so much for supporting my story. I can't wait to be able to say that you helped me make Shane proud ♥
