Hello everyone, As some have already heard, Sullivan and Killian’s father passed away very unexpectedly on June 28. Adam lost his battle with depression, leaving behind Sullivan who is eight years old, and Killian, his younger brother, who is seven. Sullivan and Killian’s mother, Christina, is now the sole provider for the children. Due to the tragic nature of his death, child support payments have been terminated indefinitely and it is unknown whether life insurance will offer any financial assistance. A trust is being established by Adam’s other relatives in New Mexico, which they are grateful for. However, the funds cannot be utilized until after both children are of legal age. Currently, Christina is a senior and full-time student in the San Juan College Physical Therapist Assistant program. As a senior, she is required to complete 40 hr/week of unpaid clinical rotations at inpatient and outpatient facilities in the Bartlesville and Tulsa areas until November 24. Due to these degree requirements, Christina is unable to continue to work full-time at her previously held position (physical therapist technician at Peak Physical Therapy). Upon completion of her clinical rotations, Christina intends to take the National Physical Therapist Assistant licensure exam in January and begin her career as a PTA as soon as possible. In addition to paying for her own out-of-state tuition “out-of-pocket,” Christina is also tasked with paying Sullivan’s tuition at Paths to Independence, or “PTI.” PTI is a private school for individuals with Autism and other related disorders that provides students with an education more specific to their learning needs. The staff: student ratio is very low when compared to the ratio in a public school classroom; where Sullivan struggled severely before transferring to PTI. Those who know Sullivan can attest to the progress he has made with the help of PTI and would like to see him continue to be successful in his educational endeavors. The funds raised will be used to pay for Sullivan’s tuition at Paths to Independence and to assist with Christina’s tuition for her last semester of college before graduation. In Christina’s words: “We’re all heartbroken- especially the boys, they don’t fully understand what happened; but they do know that Dad is in Heaven. It's unreal and every day is hard, but I’ve got to pick up the pieces and carry on. Someone’s got to be strong for the boys. I’m so close to graduating, giving up is not an option." Thank you and I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Any help is greatly appreciated, whether by a donation or just by sharing this with or to someone{s} that is also willing to help in this very unexpected time of need.
