Hello, I’m Zackeus Kynard. For those who know me, you know I don’t particularly like to ask for money. However, over the past year and a half, I’ve had to rely on Uber and Lyft services to get me around, including through school. I have also walked more than 5 miles on multiple occasions to get things done and avoid the high prices. We all know that life moves on, no matter what our circumstances are. I maintained a job during the year, but due to the consistent high prices associated with using ride share services, most, if not all of my earnings went back towards Uber/Lyft. The amount I’ve spent over the past year and a half could have paid for a vehicle in itself. As I prepare to enter a new chapter in life, my independence is placed further and further into my hands. A vehicle could eliminate a lot of problems I’ve faced recently. I was encouraged to create this fundraiser as a way to reach out, because no one would know I needed help if I didn’t voice it. I’ve never made it a habit to ask for money, but this is one of those times where I’ve considered it. There’s not much of a deadline, as all of the funds I receive will go in a savings account intended for the eventual purchase of a vehicle. No one is obligated, obviously, but I’d truly appreciate the help. Thank you all.
