Update 8/14: with the abrupt departure of co-owner and head coach, Coach Michael Bonneville just days before the boys were to move-in, and start their journey to college via football decisions had to be made for what was in the best interest of the student-athletes. On Saturday, August 5th the decision was made that for this season Bonneville Football Academy would merge with SW FL Tech and Prep in Naples, FL. With the merge, there are added expenses and the boys still need assistance with fees and housing. All money raised goes directly to help them with these expenses. We are excited for a successful season and thankful to Coach Jenks and the team at SW FL Tech and Prep for taking us in and helping us pivot during a very trying time. In the end, it's about the boys and getting them film and to college via football with scholarships. Update 7/24: on Monday, July 24th, just 2 weeks before move-in day, my partner and Head Coach, Coach Michael Bonneville, quit via an email!! He left Bonneville Football Academy and the boys that need this opportunity. Bonneville Football Academy is a program in Orlando, Florida for boys that have graduated high school with 0 opportunities for college. Many of our boys are low-income and/or at-risk. *************** Our Story: The landscape of college football has changed - with the transfer portal and NIL deals parents have been hiring kids, specialized athletic trainers, social media consultants and recruiting services - leaving the kids that need college via football the most left out. The playing field is no longer even. Gone are the days a student with a rougher background can live the American Dream by working hard in school and on the field and earning a college education. Bonneville Football Academy gives these kids a second chance! Last year all but 2 students came from single-parent homes; several had parents in jail; several had parents actively using drugs; 2 students were homeless; 1 student a teen dad and 95% of the students could not pay our $6000 tuition. In December, one student was shot and killed - at 19 being with the wrong people at the wrong time. Our program not only provides football training, coaching and marketing but we provide life coaching and mentorship guiding these boys to leave our program as responsible, respectable young men. Many ask, why football? Just go to college. While that is certainly an option, football makes college education affordable. Also, for many of these young men, they have a higher percentage of graduating college being in the football program - in the program, they have to follow routines, schedules and be accountable to others. That drives their success off the field and will propel them to change the course of their lives. The funds raised go directly to the boys to fund their time here. They live here from August to Nov/December (depending on playoffs). Last year all of the students left the program with a minimum of two college opportunities. Even if you can't donate today, would you consider a SHARE? Spreading the word about our mission and vision does so much! These are good kids that deserve an opportunity! Thank you for your support and contribution. Even $1 helps make this dream possible and helps change the lives of these young men.
