It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our princess: Tiara McDowney. After a long courageous battle with Sarcoma Cancer, Tiara succumbed to her illness on Friday (7/7/2024) at 12:30 pm. Through it all, Tiara never wavered, complained, or gave up. Tiara is a graduate of King George High School: Class of 2019 and most recently, a graduate of Virginia State University (VSU): Class of 2024. Regardless of her illness, Tiara was determined to continue her education and achieve her goals; so, she continued to push through. That’s just who she was and still is, the epitome of perseverance. Notwithstanding her sickness, the difficulties, or oppositions – Tiara was ready to fight! To her fighting was the essence of Hope. Not just to her but more importantly to her mother, father, and her little sisters and brothers. You see, Tiara was the glue that held this family together. To them, she was hope, love, a nurturer, an encourager and essentially their strength. Countless times Tiara denied her own pain to be fully present for theirs. To them, she was being quiet while she coped but to her, she was ‘Being Still’ with purpose (Psalm 46:10). Tiara was fighting, she was silently persevering with persistence, and her faith. Tiara always had a way of making others smile. As her smile lit up any room, it would be her shield for others and for herself to minimize the pain she endured. That’s just who Tiara was, she was HOPE in human form, and she did it effortlessly. Like a rainbow after each storm, she is reassuring you, with a promise, that everything was going to be okay. If only we all had her ability to calm the storms like her or the courage to ride out each wave, no matter if we fall or not. Only then would we see things from Tiara’s perspective. Her All or Nothing demeanor. Every step of the way. To know Tiara was to “absolutely adore her” or to admire her tenacity to fight in spite of and to finish her race, and that’s just what she did! Tiara was a three times fighter in her battle with cancer. She’s been fighting cancer since she was 13 years old. And each time it came back she fought even harder. Tiara knew early on that perseverance is a virtue. It is the courage gained from adversity and the strength obtained by her ability to keep pushing on. This LFEBridge is to honor Tiara’s memory and to assist her family with the cost of her funeral and the current financial strain bestowed upon her mother (Tiffany McDowney and Family). More than anything else Tiara did not want to see her mother worry about endless bills, countless hospital stays, a multitude of doctor appointments, and traveling from doctor to doctor for additional tests and x-rays. Tiara’s desire was for her mom (and family members) to be at peace with everything. For them to obtain the same perseverance in her absence just as they did when she was here on earth. Tiara knew if they could persevere through a difficult time such as this, then they would obtain perseverance for themselves from a place of love. Tiara fought a good fight and ultimately obtained her finish line faith. Her battle will not be in vain. Please find compassion in your heart to assist the McDowney family in honoring Princess Tiara’s memory by contributing to her memorial fund. No donation is too small or too big. Please support and donate! Tiara will be deeply missed! Read: 2 nd Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept faith. Now there is in stone for me the crown of righteousness, which the lord- the righteous judge, will award to me on that day- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
