My name is Laura Severing. I am a neighbor of the Spurlock Family. Over the last two years the Spurlocks (Dad- Paul, Mom- Chelsea, Bentley, and Maylee) have been on a journey to get answers to medical questions for Bentley. Bentley was a 10 year old boy, the oldest of two children. Maylee is Bentley's little sister who will be going into third grade. Bentley fought an amazing fight, but his body and brain were not able to continue the fight. Bentley passed away Sunday, July 30, 2024. Bentley had been diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephalitis, which had presented a great deal of health problems for Bentley. He had been in and out of Nationwide Children’s Hospital during that time. Earlier this year Bentley was able to be treated at an inpatient facility near Tiffin. Bentley was working on getting caught up with academics and relearning to live life to the fullest. However a couple of days ago, Bentley’s medical condition took a turn for the worse, and he ended up being life-flighted back to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with low sodium levels a low core body temperature, unresponsive, in a coma, and swelling of the brain. Bentley is now at peace and free from pain in the arms of Jesus. Chelsea, Paul, and Maylee are now on the unimaginable and heartbreaking path of navigating this life without sweet Bentley. All of the funds raised through this account will go directly to Chelsea and Paul to help pay for Bentley's final arrangements and funeral. If you are able to donate, it will be greatly appreciated.
