BECCA’S STORY Becca Chilinski was a beautiful free-spirit, a talented artist, and a self-proclaimed “Flower Child,” however she struggled with mental health issues for more than half of her 19 short years of life. She continually searched for reasons why she was so troubled, including seeking professional help. Sadly, in the early morning hours of August 1, 2019, Becca lost her battle with mental illness and ended her life, leaving her family, friends, and even strangers, devastated. Becca's life and death will not be in vain! We are determined to find a way to help others through our tragedy. Since Becca’s death, we have awarded over $5800 in scholarships in her memory. Each year, we give away two $725 scholarships (725= her birthday 7/25). The first scholarship is given to a senior who plans to major in the mental health field—knowing that they will continue to help people, brings us comfort. ❤️ The second scholarship is given to a senior with plans to major in visual arts, since Becca was an artist herself.❤️ Becca was born on July 25, 2000 and left this world on August 1, 2019–only one week after her 19th birthday. This is why we have ONE fundraiser a year during this week of mixed emotions and heartache. Please help us keep Becca’s memory alive and help young adults cover some of their college expenses by donating to THE REBECCA CHILINSKI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP, Thank you, in advance, for supporting our family over the past four difficult years. You will never know the comfort and strength we feel from Our Village. ❤️ #BeccasBudsForLife; #StowSchoolsFoundation (We don’t have her website up and running yet. If anyone would like to be the web master, please contact me!! I’ll be glad to pay you!! )
