I am helping friends to organize financial help for the Agee Family. David Agee passed away on July 13th after a severe traumatic brain injury sustained from a car accident on July 3rd. Here are the family's immediate financial needs: David had myasthenia gravis, a debilitating chronic autoimmune, neuromuscular disease. Because of his medical history, he was unable to obtain a cost-effective life insurance policy. Lilyan was able to keep the funeral expenses to a minimum but she paid out of pocket for this. David was also in the process of repairing their home but his illness was making it difficult to complete the needed work. The home Lilyan and the kids are living in is in severe disrepair and is in desperate need of major work. David did have health insurance, but even with health insurance Lilyan is facing a maximum out-of-pocket of $18,000 to cover his medical bills. The Agees were a single-income family. David worked hard to provide for his family. The law practice will be sold but that will take time and those funds are not readily available due to probate. David loved that the children were homeschooled and was passionate about them continuing on that path. The children are thriving in their homeschool community and Lilyan desires to continue homeschooling as long as possible, but homeschooling requires time and money. Changing educational paths during this season of grief is just not in the best interest of the children at this time. Many of you have reached out asking how to help and this is our effort to streamline that giving for Lilyan and the children. Thank you for any help you can offer financially and please continue to remember them in your prayers. If you would like to provide a meal for the Agee family, you can do that at the link below.
