Tamir has been selected by one or more of her teachers at Eleanor Roosevelt H.S. in MD as a student that displays an exceptional amount of leadership and studiousness, to participate in an 8 day educational tour to Spain in June of 2016. She will be spending a few days in Spain’s two biggest cities Barcelona and Madrid. This will be an excellent opportunity for this ‘A’ Spanish III student to experience the rich culture, the Castilian language, and the robust history that this trip will provide.Tamir is a 15 year old 11th grader who has always been passionate about learning. She has been on the Honor Roll or Dean’s list since she started school and was even advanced a grade due to her ability to learn so quickly. Tamir has received many awards and accolades for academics, leadership, community service; with having more than 200 hours, sports – softball being her favorite, church – she sings like an angel, and other extra-curricular activities.By Tamir attending the trip and completion of a project she will be able to: receive a half of high school credit, use this exceptional experience on her college applications and when applying for scholarships, and it will also support her decision (which has currently been influenced by being a First Class Airman in the AFJROTC) to join the Air Force after college. Tamir wants to major in Public Affairs with a minor in Graphic Design with her top 3 college choices being Howard University, Temple University, and Hampton University.Tamir is most passionate about being a great example for her 2 younger sisters in school and in her everyday life. Her respect for herself, adults, and her peers causes her to be loved and adored by many. We are asking for your support in helping this phenomenal young lady take advantage of an opportunity of a lifetime! While this is an excellent opportunity for Tamir, it is also an expensive one. It costs $2,900 to send her to Spain. Thus, she is eager to use every avenue to raise funds.
