Hello! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the messages and support you’ve provided in the last few days. Losing Mom has been tough and I appreciate everyone of you. We’ve gotten a plethora of messages asking if there’s any way you could help, and if you know me at all, you know I don’t like asking for help at all, but this is for my mom and this last request is extremely close to my heart. Due to some poor wording choices and red tape, the insurances my mom had set in place are invalid and not going to help cover any expenses. The last few months all my mom wanted to do was go home, and we would like to take one more adventure together and take her ashes back home. Mom grew up north in Dearborn, Michigan. In these last months she talked about going home when she was better to travel and crossing the border into Canada, seeing the view from her favourite bridge, and watching the changing of the leaves. The plan would be to drive up there and scatter half of moms ashes on each side of the bridge this fall. Yes, we will be driving as her beloved grandchildren (Bentley, Doyle, and Jolene) would also be tagging along. Even when mom was in the hospital they were always on the forefront of her mind, so it would be nice to take the whole family with us. This will help cover expenses for the 23 hour roadtrip up there and back for the five of us. If anyone would like to tag along on the trip or meet us there, it would be most welcomed. Thank you again for all the thoughts and prayers. If you would like to help me take my mom back home, I would be more grateful than words can express.
