Please help keep this a SECRET! We want to honor Glen's legacy and her relentless pursuit of educational excellence. For 26 years her indomitable spirit has shaped WestEd, leaving a powerful imprint on many of us. As her retirement nears, we are planning a special SECRET tribute. In recognition of Glen Harvey’s long tenure and commitment to equity and improving outcomes for children, youth, and adults, WestEd staff will establish a scholarship in Glen Harvey’s name. The Glen Harvey Scholarship will be awarded to students who are the first generation in their families to attend college. This scholarship will be administered by a non-profit organization with experience administering scholarships and Glen will work with them to develop the criteria for the scholarship awards. For those of you who wish to contribute to the scholarship fund... This is completely voluntary. You DO NOT need to donate. Your donation is NOT tax deductible. You will only receive one reminder email about this SECRET project two weeks before Glen’s retirement. This LFEBridge campaign will close on October 1. The money raised in the LFEBridge campaign will be collected by the Employee Engagement Manager and donated to the selected scholarship foundation under Glen Harvey’s name. This method of collection is being utilized in order to avoid any legal/tax issues because of WestEd’s JPA status. For transparency and accountability, the Employee Engagement Manager will provide proof of the amount raised from the LFEBridge campaign to the Chief Financial Officer, the incoming CEO, the General Counsel, and the Director of Accounting.
