My dog ruptured his cruciate ligament in his knee while we were hiking. Hiking is where we both find peace and would be lost without it. Without an intact cruciate ligament the knee is unstable. Wear between the bones and meniscal cartilage becomes abnormal and the joint begins to develop degenerative changes. Bone spurs called osteophytes develop resulting in chronic pain and loss of joint motion. He needs surgery to live a life without constant pain. I don’t have the all of the possible $7500 dollar bill it will end up being. The initial emergency visit was $1,400 and that was a hit to my savings. I still have some savings but not enough to cover this extensive surgery he needs. Please help him get back on the small trails. His big mountain days might be over but he still has plenty of walks left in him. I appreciate all of the support and I am grateful for any donation big or small.
