A Celebration of Marc’s Life. Our entire family is overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community and beyond for Marc, Pam, and Aurelia. It's been incredible to see how many lives he touched in such a positive way. A celebration of Marc’s life has been planned for September 10, 2024 at 1:00PM at Frasierview Church 11295 Mellis Dr, Richmond BC V6X 1L8. All are welcome to attend the memorial. August 14 Update: It is with deep sorrow that we share that Marc passed away early this morning, August 14, 2024. The incredible support shown here will help his family through this difficult transition and into their new lives in his absence. Please keep them in your thoughts and support them however you can. Marc’s memory will forever be a blessing to those that knew him. Let’s honour his memory by surrounding his beautiful family with love and support. Update: It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news that Marc has aggressive Stage 4 Pancreatic and Liver cancer. Marc has had numerous ultrasound examinations and CT scans. Marc and Pam have been told that the cancer will be terminal, with the primary focus now shifting to pain management and quality of life. Our job now is to make him comfortable and surround him with love. As we continue to come alongside Marc, Pam and Aurelia to support them, and help them prepare for the hard days ahead, Marc has only one wish. Marc has passionately requested we help ensure that his family is supported. The speed at which this cancer has progressed has caused fear and anxiety. While Marc knows his family will have emotional support, financial support helps with the upcoming necessities. There are challenging times ahead. Painful discussions, and emotionally draining situations. Thank you so much for your generous donations which will assist in alleviating as much financial burden for his wife and daughter during this horrific time. Pamela has been a pillar of strength and has not left Marc’s side. This fundraiser will remain open so please share with others. Your love and support is greatly appreciated. ________________________________________________________________________ Marc Shapiro has recently learned that he will have another major fight against cancer. Marc is an incredibly generous and loving husband, father, friend, son, brother, uncle, nephew. He beat Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma through a stem cell transplant 16 years ago and has not taken a single day for granted. He lives his life to the fullest and created an amazing family, having married his soul mate. His 8 year old daughter is often a sweet reminder of what kind of father is raising her. This year he passed the 20 year mark as an aviation firefighter in Vancouver Canada. In that time he’s excelled in the fire service as a Captain, Lieutenant, and first aid instructor. In addition, he provides recertification for BC aviation firefighters and manages our first aid program as head instructor. Marc gives his time and passion to countless causes, including raising money through the distinguished gentleman’s ride for cancer, volunteering and raising awareness for stem cell donation, and being an ambassador to the BC Cancer foundation. He is always thinking of how he can honor the life he was given. This is not fair, and cancer sucks. Let’s come together and help Marc and his family through this challenging road ahead. Please donate so they can focus on kicking cancer’s ass once again! It’s our turn to help him!!! All healing energy, vibes, and prayers are needed. Thank you for your love and support. Love, his best friend and his sister.
