Hi there, I am Yusuf, and I am filled with an unwavering passion for contributing to the green energy transition. That's why I embarked on a double degree master's program at EIT InnoEnergy, specializing in renewable energy. After completing my first-year studies at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, I was thrilled to be accepted by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Spain for my second year. However, unforeseen financial difficulties have emerged due to sudden changes in my family's financial situation, making it challenging for me to cover my second-year tuition fee. But with your help, I can turn my dreams into reality and successfully graduate from my master's program in 2024. Allow me to share a bit about myself. I come from a family deeply rooted in agricultural activities and the sale of fresh fruits. During my childhood, I eagerly joined my father at work during breaks and summers, gaining hands-on experience in growing plants, understanding consumer behavior, and even managing my own business. You might wonder how a 10-year-old could grasp such concepts, but I assure you, those experiences molded my perspective and ignited a fire within me. Despite facing adversities during my university years, including the downturn of our family business and my mother's battle with cancer, we stood strong, never losing sight of our goals. Guided by the lessons of resilience and determination instilled by my family, I remained committed to pursuing my studies and excelled in my mechanical engineering program at Middle East Technical University, one of Turkey's top technical universities. The turning point came during my final year of bachelor's studies when a close friend presented a business idea that sparked our entrepreneurial spirit. We established our first startup alongside three other friends, an experience that opened my eyes to the world of entrepreneurship. This pivotal moment inspired me to change my career path, leading me to the double degree master's program that perfectly combines my passion for renewable energy and entrepreneurial activities. This unique program not only offers the chance to study at renowned European universities specializing in renewable energy but also provides courses at a leading business school, nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset within me. With the generous support of the "Energy Impact Scholarship," I began my first year at KTH Royal Institute of Technology with unparalleled motivation. In parallel, I secured a part-time role as a delivery person at Velove, riding an e-bike, further immersing myself in the world of sustainable transportation. Successfully completing my first year, I now stand on the cusp of my second year in Barcelona. However, the financial burden weighs heavily on me, as I struggle to cover both the tuition fee and monthly expenses. Yet, with the incredible support of my classmates and friends, who have guided me through this turbulent time, I am determined to overcome this obstacle. The hurdle I face now is the daunting tuition fee of 150,000 SEK before 5% commission for LFEBridge (140,000 SEK =12,000 Euro & 1 Euro = 11.5 SEK), a sum that feels insurmountable on my own. I have always been a firm believer in the power of helping others, and I have actively engaged in social volunteering activities, raising awareness about environmental pollution, supporting cancer patients, and providing educational assistance in rural areas. Today, I find myself on the other side of the equation, humbly reaching out for help during this difficult chapter of my life. I have a dream—a dream of making a meaningful contribution to creating a sustainable and livable world for all. I yearn to utilize my expertise in renewable energy to make a tangible impact once I graduate from my studies. My first time on campus at KTH, my first day at my first part-time job, my first touristic tour of the city, my first laughter in Barcelona where my second-year university is located, the first time we met the northern lights through the window in my dorm room, the first time we presented our venture idea together with Mr.Investor (Alex) as Swedish representatives, our team photo (Enersoul) reflected in the lenses after being selected as the second in the Battle of Green Talent competition and finally the last presentation of the first year with a great team member from RENE batch! These are just the memories I could immortalize and I have accumulated so many beautiful memories and friendships during this year.
