Dear Friends and Family, Thank you again for the overwhelming love and support we have received since our dear John left us on the 15 July you have all kindly asked how you can make donations and therefore we have set up this go fund page for Jasper (6) and Autumn (3). The funds will be used to give them experiences that will help them remember him in a positive way and to process their grief. The last few years were filled with him just trying to survive and although he did everything he could to be present for him, the pressure was huge on the whole family. John's journey with cancer was completely intertwined with being a father. The first tumour appeared the same week of Jasper's conception in Mexico. Josy and John supported young people with severe autism to receive dolphin sonar therapy and later that week they participated in a Temezcal (sweatlodge) ceremony. That day the first pain came in John's ear whilst a beautiful butterfly landed on Josy signalling Jaspers very first creation . They brought Jasper home from the hospital on the day after John had his last radiation treatment. During labour he went from one London hospital to the other in the effort to be present for his son's birth despite being absolutely broken and depleted by the treatment and barely able to eat. On Autumn's due date John had an operation for the 2nd tumour. He had kept the 2nd tumour quiet not wanting to alarm the pregnant Josy who had been traumatised by the first round. Luckily the little summer baby turned into a late emerger and therefore became our darling Autumn, naming herself with the perfect name by arriving in early September at home with the perfect home birth that hadn't quite transpired the first time around. The 3rd tumour started Easter 2024 and whilst John was able to keep it under control efficiently with a purely holistic range of protocols eventually the position of it in his neck and the damage done by the surgery made it almost impossible for him to eat. He truly was a brave and proud man, incredibly in tune with his body and open to perseverance. Whilst the dedication he showed allowed him to bounce back after round 1 finally, the cancer overwhelmed his body. The children were never fully able to experience daddy in his full glory due to his ongoing suffering and we hope to raise funds to allow them to experience travel, racing, adventure, swimming and sailing. All the things he loved alongside them. He was a wonderful father and his memory will live on. We know John would love that the children get to experience joyful times in a time of sorrow and therefore if you would like to make a donation please do. We are sending you all our love and thanks The Spooner Rolls xx
