On June 30, 2024, at around 7 am, Marilyn (aka “Ranae”) Benham and her boyfriend Jordan Green, were senselessly murdered in their home in Rio Rancho. A nearby neighbor heard the argument and immediate gun fire and quickly contacted the authorities. The suspect tried hiding the crime and dumped their lifeless bodies in the desert. K9’s searched the area and promptly located them. The police department quickly detained and arrested the suspect. Ranae was tragically taken at the age of 36, leaving behind two young sons, Jathan 18 years old and Eli 12 years old. Ranae made a great impact in her children's lives. Jathan just graduated high school and they were in the midst of planning his graduation. He is planning on beginning his training to become a Master Mechanic. Eli plays the Saxophone in Band and is in Baseball he also loves to play soccer. The purpose of this page is to help raise money to assist in the financial hardships ahead that the family will be facing due to her untimely death, as well as to help support her children through this unfathomable event. Those who were lucky enough to know her know that this is a tremendous loss to her family, her sons and her friends. She was beautiful inside and out. Ranae deeply cared for animals and was passionate in helping them. In recognition of her love for all animal life, and as a permanent memorial from her family for all those who loved her, an inscription will be engraved in her honor on a celebration tile at the ABQ BioPark Zoo. Please continue to pray for her children and family as the time passes, but the hurt will never dissipate. Our deepest appreciation for all who can help in their time of need. Thank you! In loving Memory of Marilyn Ranae Benham
