Dear Friends and Film Enthusiasts, This is an exciting time for our team of young artists. Our feature film, AKILLES, has been completed and now we have the opportunity to enter it in select film festival competitions nationwide. But that’s an expensive proposition for students and recent college graduates. We need your support to get AKILLES in front of more audiences and film industry experts who can help us get better at the work we love! With your support, you’ll be helping us pursue our dreams - a career in filmmaking, producing quality work with true cultural value. We’ve devoted an unbelievable amount of time, effort and personal funds to this project already, and we are determined to carefully select the best film festivals for the proper exposure. We truly believe the film is important for the current industry landscape and needs the type of exposure film festivals can provide. The film parodies the exploited “Battle Royale” genre with its own unique twist on an otherwise common storyline. Follow ‘The Hero’ as he faces an existential crisis while competing in the AKILLES GAMES, a dystopian colosseum set in a future where the world values entertainment over life itself. Then meet the true protagonist, Ttroy, as he navigates his new job in the television broadcasting offices in charge of presenting this battle to the masses. AKILLES Trailer: This film is the culmination of two years of hard work by our student production company - Mirror Pool Picture Motions, led by four young, high-achieving Sandwich, Massachusetts residents: Maximus Papsadore, Sturgis Public Charter School West 2019 graduate, recent Emerson College graduate majoring in film production, magna cum laude Patrick Morahan, Sturgis Public Charter School West 2019 graduate, recent Northeastern University graduate, summa cum laude Jack Sullivan, Sturgis Public Charter School West 2019 graduate, recent UMass Dartmouth graduate, summa cum laude, now in a Ph.D. program at UConn Jack O’Haire, Boston College High School 2024 graduate, current Hamilton College student, theatre major We would be deeply honored by your support, especially at such an early stage of our careers. A gift of any amount will help. Please note that every dollar raised will be used for film festival entry fees and promotion. And we will report on our progress so you can see your contributions at work. Thank you for reading through our appeal and for your consideration! With our deep gratitude, The Mirror Pool Team P.S. If you’re unable to support this project financially yourself, please share our request with as many people as you can — it really helps! Thank you!
