The SUNY Maritime Administration has chosen not to provide a September Graduation for the class of 2024. The impacted classes of 2024 and 2024 both received a ceremony after their victory cruise. The class of 2024, the last class to overcome the effects of Covid, is being deprived of their rightful recognition. Due to this, student leaders have decided to plan and host a student-run September Graduation ceremony. It will take place on September 29th at 1pm in the Pentagon at Fort Schuyler to honor the 92 graduating cadets. As per the Administration, they are offering zero resources to support this event. We have the support from various orgizanitions within the Maritime Industry but the expenses for the ceremony has been numerous. We need your help and support to fund this ceremony and give the September Graduates the ceremony they deserve. Some of the cost are: the rental of the Fort Schuyler grounds, chairs, stage, sound system, insurance policy for the day, photographers, tents and more. Any support is greatly appreciated and we hope to see you there! We have a committee of student leadership that will allocate the funds appropriately for all necessary aspects of the ceremony.
