My name is LaDiamond Blueford and I study Telecommunications at Texas Southern University. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where I grew a love for music and dance thanks to the influence of my family. I began to follow the many talents I have peice by peice and formed my own dance team my freshman year and slowly released a single named "With U" my junior year. It spread so fast and became well liked on campus. It then motivated me to study more music and continue to perfect my craft. Writing music has always been a passion of mine, and to see people feed off of it in a positive and vibing way, encourages me to make more music. Ive performed at numerous lounges around Houston and events on campus.This past summer I went on an auditon at my school to be apart of a musical production that was being performed in Beijing, China. Out of so many singers they were only looking for one alto. I was chosen! The entire trip was paid for and the experience was estonishing! I learned songs in chinese, and had a vocal coach the entire journy. Ive never been able to afford vocal coaches or trips outside of the country, so I was extremely grateful and blessed to be given the opportunity. Learning the difference in music and tradition in China encouraged me to apply for the Study Abroad Progam in Paris, France. Myself and 15 other TSU students were chosen! I am so excited! I was offered the posibility of performing some of my original music as well as teaching a dance workshop there in Paris! The course i will be enrolled in in Paris will be specializing in the history of African American women who performed on foreign stages. Aside from my experience to China, this trip WILL NOT be financially covered by the program. I am asking that you help invest in this journey with me as a contribution to my future successes in Music, Dance, and Film.
