In September 2024 I began remotely working with a vocal duo out of Nigeria named Zeefellaz… Over the past couple years, Alvin and Kester have become like family, as we’ve collaborated on a ton of music. This project, producing beats and mixing these songs for Zeefellaz is some of my most favorite art I’ve ever been a part of. An international cross cultural collaboration that is truly special. Last year around this time I began the process to get their P-3 visas (culturally unique performer) and got us booked at multiple events here in the states… (Lightning in a Bottle, California WorldFest, Golden Gate Park Bandshell and more). Very exciting stuff! Their visa petition was approved by USCIS, and I kept booking shows, while preparing to have them come live with us for about 6 months. All was starting to come together. Unfortunately, the visas were denied, leaving us to shift our plans. I have exhausted my financial resources, after lawyer fees, application fees, interview fees, etc. Alvin and Kester have also exhausted their resources and are unable to continue paying for studio time back in Nigeria. We plan to attempt to get their visas again later this year to book them at festivals and shows in 2024. In the meantime we want to raise funds to purchase them studio equipment to set up their own vocal recording lab in their home. This way we can stay creative and productive. I would like to raise $2500 for Zeefellaz to purchase a laptop, audio interface, microphone, headphones, studio monitors, cables and stands, and a camera to capture footage. I’ve never asked for a hand out in my music making endeavors, as I’ve always funded my own projects. I’ve never done the crowdfunding thing, but right now I need to call on all of my friends, family and extended community to help me keep this flame lit. I have a pretty large network of people that know I’ve been all about this music for 20+ years. I’ve supported a lot of artists careers, and have always encouraged people to follow their dreams and passion. If I can get 125 people to donate $20 each, we are there!!! I know times are tough for many right now in this world, but if you have the abundance to share, I know you will be blessed in return for supporting us. check out some of our tunes: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4ew7yLVDnJh8dDtZWgUHO2?si=5IfkDB_aQmetMvuLoLVlxg
