Fundraiser for South Lyon Murphy Lost Animal Recovery. Other known as SLM. We are looking for funds for this amazing group. They work tirelessly trapping animals that are lost, homeless or injured. This group is so dedicated and never asks for money to do this tedious and dangerous job. Their heart and soul is to capture every single one of them. There is only one thing SLM asks. That is to listen to and respect the procedure. SLM has had so many success stories. Very few failures. SLM needs equipment to continue their very important work. There are times that begging falls into place because many times they take on more than they can chew. Being in that position causes a lot of stress on the group. Just a couple of months ago Lilly a little black Shih Tzu mix jumped out of the foster parent's arms. She had only been there a day or two. Although the foster's instinct was to go out looking for her, SLM said no. Let us take over. In just two days they had Lily back in the arms of her foster….. collar and leash left on, lol. Just last month Nikki, a broken down German Shepherd Dog, was spotted for months clutching on to her only security ….. her stuffy. Word was the owner died and Nikki had nowhere to go so she was on her own for some time. No one could get her. Almost Home was heartbroken and it was gutwrenching at the same time to see photos sent to them of a thin Nikki walking in the rain holding on to her stuffy for dear life. The first thing we did was send Nikki’s photos to SLM. In just 2 days SLM was able to recover Nikki and bring her to Almost Home. Nikki was malnourished, sick with heartworm disease and other health-related issues. Almost Home had her medically treated by 3 different vets. As we speak she is in the most loving home with her momma and papa. She gets homemade food, so much love and of course lots of stuffies. There are so many amazing animal recoveries by the amazing SLM. We could go on and on. SLM is having huge financial difficulties and we want to help them. Please if you would help them. They are not a 501 c 3. Truly, they are instrumental in so many happily ever afters. Please if you would help the animals have a better life. There aren’t many rescue and recovery groups out there as nobody wants this huge and expensive responsibility.
