Hello, my name is Sophie and I am a 2nd year student studying Nursing at Griffith University. The University has an opportunity for its nursing students to participate in an internship, travelling to Vietnam to volunteer our medical skills. The internship program is for students to work in local medical clinics for 3 weeks, offering help and resources to patients, nurses and doctors. Our accommodation is to house with the locals, to learn about how they live, their culture and to offer us a realistic insight to life in Vietnam and their healthcare system. The internship is self funded by ourselves and due to my current circumstances as a university student living away from home, cost of living, the cost of resources we will need to provide and travel expenses, I will not be able to fund this myself. Nursing is my passion in life and I would be grateful to have the privilege of being able to give back in any way to those in need, assisting in people’s recovery and providing emotional support. I believe this opportunity would be an extremely valuable learning experience, insightful and further my knowledge for my career development as a future registered nurse in Australia. Thank you for taking the time to read my LFEBridge and any contributions are sincerely appreciated.
